Is Flight School The Best Jump Program For You?

The Flight School is contains  8 weeks of plyo workouts designed to improve explosiveness and jumping technique. The jump program is divided into 4, 2 week phases in a progressive system. Basically the intensity of the exercises increases over the 8 weeks. Foam rolling , myofacial self release techniques to improve mobility and enhance recovery are also included.

Unfortunately the program is let down by the poor exercise periodization and presentation(eg. jumping techniques with pics no videos). The programming is definitely not suited to beginner trainers and they actually suggest to google the exercises yourself to learn how to do them.

If you don't have a base of previous plyometric exercise experience then you will likely get overuse injuries such as tendonitis and shin splints with this program. Exercises such as hurdle jumps in the early phases of a program is always a bad move.

The program is very repetitive and then adds more intense exercises such as single-leg hurdle jumps. Progressing on sets from low volume to increased volume (progressive overload).

Phase 4 - weeks 7 and 8 introduces sprints, abs rest, plyos hurdle jumps into box jumps combos.

There is a weight training add on but it is not very jump specific. Just generic leg extensions and lying hamstring curls, leg press, stiff leg deadlifts, calf raises,

If you are after a quality program you would be better off spending a few extra bucks and picking up a better produced jump training system.
